How to Install a Kickstand Installing a new kickstand is easy. (1) Have your bike in a wheel stand locked in a upright position, so it can not fall over when you remove your stock kickstand. (2) Remove spring with pliers, grab one side and pull down and out, when you do this the spring has no pressure and the kickstand is now ready to be unbolted. Keep the spring you will be reusing it. (3) Remove bolt that is at the top of your kickstand which is through a sensor switch bracket. How that sensor works, is at the back of kick stand there is a nipple standing off and when your kickstand is in use it will allow you to start bike in neutral. If if the nipple is engaging the sensor the bike will not start. Its a safety feature. It just lets the bike know its in a safe position to allow motor to be turned on. So make sure your new kickstand has a nipple (stand off) on back side or bike will turn over. Kickstands (4) With new kickstand to install just start with step 3-1. If your bike is lowered and you bought an adjustable lowering kickstand, this is when you adjust it for proper height, so bike will not tip over. BE SAFE
